Soap dispensers in public toilets cause a feeling of unease to many users. Avoiding this and positively distinguishing themselves from the competition were the goals of this client. Since in this case the user and the purchaser of the product are often different, both target groups and additionally installers and maintenance personnel were targeted for the investigations. While for the user the application and here the intuitive and hygienic operation as well as the aesthetic appearance of the device and the soap are in the foreground, other aspects are important for the various stakeholders. Using creativity techniques and the “buyer’s experience cycle” from the “Blue Ocean Strategy”, a variety of attractiveness-enhancing measures were identified in a User & Buyer Experience Workshop.
