Alignment strategy in compressor technology


From insignificance to market leader

To complement its core pneumatics business, this customer intended to expand their range to include compressors developed in-house. He commissioned tech-solute to develop a positioning strategy in the highly competitive compressor market. First, a competitor research was conducted to obtain information on the market-dominating companies, such as product range, advertised unique selling propositions and current R&D activities. In the subsequent joint Status Quo Workshop, the dominant competitive factors were mapped and the “strategic contours” of the analysed companies were presented. This shows in which areas these companies invest their resources compared to the competition. From this and by means of a SWOT analysis, tech-solute derived three possible differentiation strategies, one of which forms the basis for the client’s successful new business today.
