Meet John, 30, from Ohio
John has a Masters degree from Heidelberg University and is fascinated by technology. So when our CEO and our Head of overall Development met him by chance, they got talking and were able to convince John to join tech-solute.
John is currently working with tech-solute’s management team to establish our US branch and familiarize himself with tech-solute’s service portfolio. The chess-playing strategist has prepared the processes he will need in his role as Business Development Manager Northeast USA in the back office. Now he represents tech-solute USA Inc. and, as a sales representative, looks after American customers to ensure that their ideas are translated into high-quality prototypes using ‘German engineering’. The Cleveland Browns fan’s goal: ‘I want to bring German quality across the ocean to America. True to the motto: ’American spirit meets German engineering”, combining the strengths of both countries.
John enjoys travelling and is looking forward to exploring destinations along the Moselle, Rhine and in the Black Forest. In February 2026, he is planning his first tour of America, together with one or two of our best engineers, to introduce tech-solute to interested parties and potential business partners.
John is the perfect match for the job. Although his family and roots remain in Ohio, his love for Germany was ignited by a student exchange scholarship that brought him to Germany at the young age of 18. He stayed and successfully mastered a BA in Karlsruhe and an MA from Heidelberg University.
3 questions about you, John:
- Will you be going back to the USA at some point?
John: Yes, certainly! I love Germany, but I miss the USA and my job now gives me the possibility to travel to the USA often. But eventually my plan is to get tech-solute USA up and running and to move back to Ohio to extend our USA branch.
- What do you love about Germany?
- Public transport: the infrastructure makes it possible to reach any location
- Safety: (no mass shootings)
- Healthy food (although the typical local SchniPoSa should not be missed from time to time)
- Beer (especially the dark wheat beer from Waldhaus)
- And what keeps you at tech-solute?
First and foremost, the hands-on mentality. At tech-solute, we are “makers”. I am the son of a geologist, and I worked extensively with my father on the road, at excavations and in mines, mining precious stones. I love power tools and I get things done.
In addition, obviously, there is the honest excitement that all engineers at tech-solute love: we create things that do not yet exist.
I really like my colleagues. They are lively combined with friendliness and a sense of responsibility. Values that are important to me.
Oh. And have I mentioned the Beer yet? 😊
