Feasibility study on natural gas operation for snow cats
In this study, the basic feasibility of a natural gas-powered snow cat was investigated. The scope of the study included research into suitable natural gas engines and natural gas storage facilities, refuelling options, other possible uses of natural gas in the Alpine region, as well as the investigation of installation options for existing natural gas engines in series-produced snow cats. At the end of the project, a prototype of a natural gas snow cat, realised by tech-solute, was ready for use.
