Cost reduction potentials for kitchen sinks
The aim of this project was to reduce the manufacturing costs of kitchen sinks. Some product features are associated with elaborate manufacturing processes that the future user often does not realise. Therefore, high prices in comparison to competitive products were not always comprehensible for the user and tech-solute was asked to research whether there are features that can be reduced or even eliminated in the manufacturing effort, e.g. those that are less or hardly relevant for the customer groups (kitchen dealers, installers, users). In particular, product functions that are expensive to manufacture but have little relevance for the customer are potential levers for cost-cutting measures. Such functions were identified in the course of several workshops. For this purpose, we first interviewed representatives from different departments of the company, using a special methodology, and in a second round of workshops we interviewed representatives of the customer groups.
