Vertical farming (VF) enables sustainable agriculture and mass production of crops in urban areas in multi-storey buildings. A young start-up approached tech-solute with the business idea of developing and selling VF systems specifically for the cultivation of plants for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Within the course of a business model check workshop, it was possible to uncover risks that had not been sufficiently considered so far, as well as additional opportunities for long-term differentiation from the growing competition.
